Chapter 509 The Undead Champions!
Chapter 509 The Undead Champions!
After destroying the zombie dragons with Helliana and Lorem, Asura trembled.
His skin filled with tingles, and he felt a sense of danger. His head snapped around as if searching for something while his neck tingled with a shock of lightning.
"Dangerous! Helia, Lorem spread out!"
WOOSH—!
A massive green beam shot from the coast, thick and crackling with black energy—the necrotic blast howled as it shot past Asura's face.
Out of sheer instinct, his body leaned away from the beam, a filthy scent of corruption assaulting his nostrils. Then he fell to the ground as pain pulsed throughout his body from the fall. He let out a groan while trying to understand what had happened.
'Did someone fire that at me...'
Asura bit his teeth together, and one-half of his wings melted from the beam. He was sure he would have died if that thing had directly struck him.
As he turned toward the coast, he saw a large four-legged monster with a shaft on its back—the tip glowing with green and black light. As soon as he saw this, Asura knew who attacked them.
Asura quickly looked to where the beam shot but could only find a pile of ashes...
Asura let out a painful groan as he forced his wings to flap, faster, faster, towards the monster aiming at his two wives. Fear gripped his heart like a demon's claw, knowing very well both of them could die in an instant.
"Helia! Lorem! Support the fleet!" He shouted with relief upon seeing them alive, fluttering with no damage to them. Both gave him a concerned look but followed his orders right after.
Looking at the monstrosity on the coastline, Asura bared his fangs; "Filthy beast, you'll pay for ruining my wings, and aiming at my wives!"
The initial plan seemed to have failed—Asura noticed many of the undead special units in Ulvar. When he tried to inspect them more closely, an attack from the land mass came at him.
With a flick of his claw, a barrier blocked it from hitting him or his wives. It was an ordinary beam projectile that flew with impressive speed, forcing Asura to lower himself further from their line.
His body dived towards the ground, a heavy wind blowing against his face, and a bit of pain came from where the undead weapon's blast struck his wings.
"Ugh.." A slight groan of pain escaped Asura's mouth; he felt it hurt not from the outside but within.
A sizzle of burning flesh came from the black mark, almost like someone dipped part of his wing into acid—the feathers disintegrated, leaving nothing behind, and that corrosive acid continued eating at his wings, even now.
'I think I need to kill these beasts...' Asura frowned deeply while diving towards the huge four-legged monster.
He increased his speed, a sonic boom from his rapid movement, but before he could reach the coastline of Ulvar Keep, numerous beams fired in all directions from the monsters at him.
'Well then...this should be fun..'
Asura swallowed his saliva, a dry sensation as he began to dance through the skies, aiming to destroy their battery of corrosive laser beasts.

.
Lorem's wings fluttered, a scarlet flame following her body as they spread through the skies—flames so intense even the surrounding air warped, creating mirages of heat.
Her lips stretched to show off her ferocious teeth as she glared at the incoming warships, scattering her flames like napalm on the undead fleets.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOOM!
A blood-curdling cry roared out as a crimson blast shot from one of the undead monstrosities.
But it didn't stay long.
Faster than the speed of sound, the beam changed trajectory straight into the throat of its caster, blowing its head into pieces.
Asura's appearance appeared from the smoke.
His eyes narrowed as he channelled his aura into his black claymore, the swirl of black fire increasing with each step.
Asura lifted the blade, its weight causing his arms to tremble slightly from the raging inferno growing around the sword before he slashed at the enormous beast in the patter of a crescent moon.
As the tip touched the air, it left a gash that burned the atmosphere apart while tearing the creature in two.
BOOOMM—!!!
A loud shockwave resonated throughout the area, shattering everything within a mile radius of the massive impact zone.
In moments, the ground cracked open and filled with magma—a sea of flame spread outwards in a wave, burning every single undead monster in its path until nothing remained besides blackened bones and ashes.
"That felt amazing..."
Asura's eyes narrowed, the distant sounds of cannon fire and battle, while he looked at the grey walls of Ulvar keep, tightening his grip on the black sword.
'The Keep isn't something I can take down alone...I must trust those two and let them do their job. His attention turned toward a mountain-sized being that stood in the distance—a large four-legged monster like a rhino. Asura's lips quickly lifted to show off a sneer...
'That thing is destroying ships left and right... I'll make sure you die!'
'Just wait, you big hunk of metal.'

Two hours later, the battle reached a critical point, and the tides began to turn in their favour. Many ships were still operational, but many had damaged engines or wounded crews.
"Uhhg..." A man groaned as he collapsed onto his knees, clutching a wound that had been caused by an undead monster earlier during battle.
Asura closed his eyes, his breathing calm. "Helia, use your flames to heal the wounded of that vile disease. Lorem, are you ready to join me with the boarding force?"
"Yes!" Both women exclaimed, eager to follow orders given by Asura.
Asura opened his eyes and let out a breath, turning towards them both. "Alright, then get to it. Also, beware of the new troops from Ulvar. It seems only their elite are remaining in that place right now."
The two headed back into the sky, leaving behind some crew members to care for the injured or dead sailors.
Helia flew overhead of one ship after another, healing everyone aboard. Lorem joined Asura as they gathered just over a thousand knights and prepared for the upcoming battle.
The second phase of the battle soon approached them.
Atop the walls were an impressive force of power undead... not a single one lower than Stage Seven.
"After all the undead champions didn't leave..."
