Chapter 116 Belieth

Chapter 116 Belieth

Meanwhile, Garm frowned after hearing James' words. He hated dealing with Merchants because he could never tell whether they were lying or telling the truth.

If Lucian was truly part of the Orchard family, he would have no choice but to back off.

But it also depended on how highly the Orchard Family regarded him. If he was only a Mana Soul Realm Mage or even Mana King Realm Mage, they would not care if he died.

After a few moments of pondering, Garm responded icily, "Fine, but I want proof of how highly he's valued. And even if it turns out he's part of the Orchard Family, if he's a Magical Beast, I'll end his life here."

'You're welcome to try.' Lucian yawned.

James nodded. "Very well. Senior, go ahead and show Sir Garm that you are not a Magical Beast."

Even now James' face radiated calmness, but only he knew how anxious he truly was. Merchants were not gamblers! They made each decision with a plan in mind while eliminating all risks. This... however, was his first time gambling. He had thrown the dice, now, he could only wait for the inevitable.

If his gamble paid off, he would have a powerful backer, but if it turned out that Lucian was truly a Magical Beast, a battle would commence, potentially endangering his life.

"Alright." Lucian nodded and activated his Dragon's Gaze. Instantly, his deep blue ocean pupils elongated vertically, while at the same time, the color of his irises became an eerie shade of dark purple, and tendrils of black smoke seeped from them.

Under the effects of Dragon's Gaze, Garm's body began trembling. He felt as though he was suddenly being stared down at by an apex Magical Beast. His very life felt threatened by the creature in front of him. However, he was still sane enough to quickly realize the threat was on an instinctual level. Lucian did not possess the actual strength to kill him.

The deep-seated, primal fear did not belong to him, but rather...

[RUN! GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!]

A hoarse, ancient voice filled with boundless killing intent resounded in Garm's mind, leaving him utterly shocked. He was not shocked by the sudden voice, but rather the unmistakable fear within the voice.

[You're telling me to run?] Garm asked wide-eyed, unsure of how to react to Belieth's words. He, of course, understood Belieth wanted him to run; however, his words did not fit his character.

For as long as Garm could remember, Belieth had always shown disdain and a lack of fear for all Mages on Arcadia.

On the other hand, Albert silently frowned as he watched his Master's trembling body and listened to their conversation; however, he was not worried his Master would be harmed. Even if Lucian was a terrifying existence, Belieth would be able to handle him with ease.

However, Albert was unaware that his trust in Belieth this time would not come to fruition.

Had Belieth been faced with any other Mortal on Arcadia, Albert's trust in him would have been valid. Unfortunately, they ran into the only Mage on Arcadia that could cause primal fear within him.

[Damnit! Didn't this sovereign tell you not to mess with him? This sovereign said he felt something off about the brat.] Belieth continued to scold Garm, waking him up from his minute-long shock.

All of a sudden, Belieth's previous words echoed in Garm's mind — words he had ignored.

Immediately after Garm entered the portal and arrived before Lucian's sleeping figure, he frowned after attempting to examine him from head to toe.

'Why does my Mana Sense not work on him? It's like he doesn't even exist. Is he using some sort of Concealment Skill or Artifact?'

While Garm was frowning, Albert stepped out of the portal.

[Master, was Yax lying?] Albert asked, after noticing the frown on his Master's face.

Instead of answering his friend, Garm said, [Use your Mana Sense on Lucian and tell me what you see.]

Despite the weird order, as any good servant should do, he followed his Master's order without questioning him.

Immediately after Albert spread his Mana Sense, he was shocked to find Lucian had vanished from the chair.

[Where did he go?]

[He's still there.] Garm replied with an even deeper frown.
