Chapter 70 Dimension
Chapter 70 Dimension
With intoxicated eyes and flushed cheeks. Lucian smirked at their reaction.
Then, he controlled the thumbtack-sized droplet of blood from the Titan Drunken Blood Monkey to enter the pan sauce.
As soon as the blood entered the pan sauce, it diffused throughout the liquid, transforming the color into blood-red with hints of multicolored starlight.
*Roar*
*Boom*
Within the quiet restaurant, the roar of a Titan Drunken Blood Monkey resounded alongside the thumping of its chest, startling Lily and Fenwick out of their daze.
"Wh-what!? Don't tell me that terrifying Magical Beast is back!?" Fenwick shouted and hurriedly looked around the restaurant, his eyes wide with panic.
<{Congratulations. The pan sauce is finished.}>
"Done," Lucian said as he glanced at the pan sauce while ignoring Fenwick's worry.
Lily, however, frowned as she looked at the pan sauce. After a moment of flaring her nose, she asked, "Big Brother Lucian, why can't Lily smell it?"
[For survival purposes, the Titan Drunken Blood Monkey has a skill that allows it to deactivate the aroma of its blood. Because the blood sensed a threat within the pan sauce, it automatically activated. If the Host were stronger, you could have deactivated the skill.] The System explained timely.
Lucian silently nodded and then repeated what the System explained to Lily, except for the last sentence. For his continued survival, he had to maintain the illusion of being invincible for as long as possible. Once he was strong enough, he would no longer need the illusion.
After hearing Lucian's explanation, Lily and Fenwick, who had realized the roar came from the dish, both sighed in disappointment.
Lucian did not mind their disappointment, since he was internally just as disappointed as them. Smell was responsible for eighty percent of what we tasted. That meant the dish would be eighty percent less tasty!
A second later, with perfect Mana control, Lucian separated the pan sauce into two equal portions.
[System, can you place two ramekins from the kitchen into my inventory?]
[Yes, Host,]
Immediately after, Lucian saw in his mind:
—-------------
Two ramekins have been added.
—-------------
After taking out the ramekins from his inventory, Lucian filled them with the pan sauce, quickly noting that the pan sauce had further reduced and thickened after adding the blood from the Titan Drunken Blood Monkey,
"Lily-
Just as he opened his mouth, he chuckled, noticing one of the ramekins had disappeared.
"Thank you for the meal, Big Brother Lucian," Lily said as she poured a tiny amount of pan sauce over a slice of filet mignon. As the pan sauce touched the filet mignon steak, to Lily's shock, she watched as it began hardening. Soon, a layer of beautiful, shiny red crystals covered the steak.
Meanwhile, in a place devoid of light, Lily and Lucian's sleeping bodies could be seen aimlessly floating, twelve feet apart from each other.
A few moments later, Lucian's eyelids twitched before fluttering open.
"What the...? Where am I?" Lucian was shocked. He hastily activated Dragon's Gaze and looked in every direction, yet he was only met with pitch-black darkness.
[System, can you hear me?] Lucian called out to the System while wondering if he was dreaming. But quickly dismissed that possibility. Before arriving here, he had just taken a bite of the Sous Vide Filet Mignon...
Lucian narrowed his eyes and thought, 'Could this be related to the steak?'
While Lucian was lost in thought, the System finally replied, [Yes, Host. I can hear you.]
[Do you know where I am?] Lucian asked as he continued to use Dragon's Gaze to view past the darkness. However, it was as though the darkness was never ending.
[Unfortunately, the System does not know.] The System said and continued, [However, based on the Host's body still within Transcendence, it seems your Soul has been pulled into a Dimension.]
Lucian frowned and continued asking, [Do you know the Mage's Rank this Dimension belongs to? Are they an Immortal or a God?]
[Unfortunately, the System is too low-Ranked to analyze the Dimension. However, since only a Human Immortal and above can create a Dimension, it is safe to say the Host needs to be careful.]
Lucian nodded while wondering if his Universal Shroud would work on the unknown Mage. From the Skill's description, it sounded as though even Immortals with their Immortal Sense and Gods with their Divine Sense, which were better versions of Mana Sense, would not be able to detect him.
*Zzz*
Suddenly, a soft snore like the gentle snore of a kitten broke the eerie silence of the dark Dimension.
'... Was that a snore?' Lucian furrowed his brows before remembering he was not the only person to eat the Sous Vide Filet Mignon.
"Lily, is that you? Can you hear me?" Lucian called out, but even after a few seconds, he received no answer.
*Zzz*
Well... except for the kitten's... Pixie's cute snoring.
'This woman...' With a wry smile, Lucian took a step in the direction of Lily's snoring.
Even though the darkness was ever-present and his hands could move through it, the darkness below his feet was solid.
After walking for three seconds, Lucian could make out the faint outline of Lily's body, peacefully sleeping among the darkness in a fetal position.
Once Lucian was standing near Lily, he crouched down and gently shook her shoulder.
"Wake up, Lily," Lucian said softly.
"Hehehe, Big Brother Lucian, please no more! Lily can't take it anymore! Please give Lily some time to rest!" Lily mumbled, half awake and clearly still dreaming.
'...' Lucian's hand on her shoulder stopped shaking her as his mind wandered.
'Why does that sound... so lewd...' He thought to himself and swallowed hard.
