Chapter 51 Cooking Is Dangerous
[The Host does not need nose plugs. As a Primordial Draconic Incubus, any substance harmful to your body will be purified. Therefore, the Host can calmly proceed to deglaze the iron skillet.] The System solemnly explained.
However, the System did not mention that while Lucian would be fine, Lily would not be able to handle the potent aroma from the Drunken Monkey Blood Wine.
The System decided to let it be a surprise.
'I hope you don't waste this chance,' The System thought to itself. It was taking quite a huge risk, but it felt it was worth it. As long as Mistress Luna continued staying in her laboratory, then it would be safe.
Lucian was surprised by the System's explanation. He was aware Dragons could purify anything that was toxic, while Incubi were immune to aphrodisiacs; however, even Apex Races had limits. A potent Grade Four wine like the Drunken Monkey Blood Wine was potent enough to kill a Mana Condensation Realm Mage, just from the aroma alone.
However, it seemed his Race was even stronger than he originally had thought.
A moment later, Lucian grabbed the half cup of Drunken Monkey Blood Wine from the counter and took a deep breath before opening the lid.
Immediately after, Lucian's eyes glazed, and his body swayed. But instantly thereafter, he felt a warm sensation spread throughout his body instantly cleansing his body from the effect.
After composing himself, Lucian sighed and shook his head.
'Even though I knew how potent the Drunken Monkey Blood Wine would be, but that was a bit too much. I didn't even take a whiff, and I almost lost consciousness.'
[Host, please continue. Your customer is waiting.] The System solemnly reminded when it noticed Lucian was still in a daze.
Lucian smiled bitterly before his expression turned to indifference. Now that he knew his body could withstand the aroma of the Drunken Monkey Blood Wine, he did not hesitate to pour it into the iron skillet.
Suddenly, as soon as the Drunken Monkey Blood Wine touched the iron Skillet as though a bomb had exploded, a cloud of red, intoxicating smoke engulfed the kitchen, taking away his vision. All he could see was the color red.
Outside the kitchen, Lily and Fenwick were startled.
Lily frowned and worriedly asked her uncle, "What happened!? Will Big Brother Lucian be okay!?"
[You could have at least informed me.]
[The System did send a notification; however, the Host was preoccupied by his anger.]
Lucian was surprised. He was unsure if he should be happy or sad. He was happy because he awakened a powerful Bloodline Skill; but sad because he lost two Star Essence Fragments.
'...Whatever. It's not as if I can reverse time.'
A few moments later, Lucian activated Dragon's Gaze. His blue eyes changed into dark purple eyes with tendrils of black smoke. Immediately after, his eyes, which could only see the color red penetrated through the smoke.
Now that Lucian could see, he scraped the bits off the bottom of the iron skillet and then waited for it to reduce by half.
The process would take five minutes. As Lucian patiently waited, his indifference slowly changed into worry. He had underestimated the Drunken Monkey Blood Wine. As the wine continued to reduce, the intoxicating aroma increased.
At the moment, his body was able to purify the Drunken Monkey Blood wine, but he was unsure if it could continue to do so.
Slowly, time continued to tick by, and the intoxicating fragrance of wine only increased, without stopping.
Waves of warmth continued to spread throughout his body faster than he could blink.
But even so, Lucian was worried. It had only been two minutes since he started reducing the wine, yet with his Mana Sense, he could see the wine was not being purified instantly like before.
'At this rate, I wonder if my body can continue to fight back...' Lucian thought with a frown on his face.
'Tch... I need to do something...' With that thought in mind, Lucian willed his Mana to encase his body in a layer of Mana.
*Pop*
But as soon as the bubble was formed, it popped like a balloon.
