Chapter 172 Battle for the Dragon Territories (2)
When I walked around the corner, I saw Hope and Zara battling it out with another 40 or so soldiers. Hope and Zara were on the far end of a large expanse of diamond flooring, hiding behind a table. Hope was keeping the soldiers at bay with a combination of treadmill floors and spikes through the feet.
Zara was performing long range venom spit attacks into the faces of the soldiers. It would get into their eyes and mouths and noses, the venom would take effect, and they would die. Well, first they passed out, and then they died.
There were too many for Hope and Zara to fully keep at bay. The soldiers were shooting at the girls and the girls were hiding behind a turned over marble table, but the bullets were starting to break the table down. Soon, they would either get shot through the table, or the table would break apart and leave them out in the open.
To save them from that fate, I rushed onto the scene. I attacked the closest soldiers with blood swipes while alternating to attack the farther away ones with blood bullets. I made my way across the field of diamond cutting people to pieces with blood swipe, while shooting armor piercing bullets at others.
I cut the last enemy into five pieces and checked on the girls. They were laying flat on the ground behind the table and trembling, but they were alright physically. Just traumatized.
"Hey, hey. You're both alright," I said, hugging them both. They hugged me back. "Are you both going to be ok?"
"Why? Are you going somewhere?" Hope said.
"Don't go!" Zara said.
"I have to check on the rest of the girls. I still have to check on Penny, Thistle, and Yuki," I said.
"Can we at least get kisses before you go?" Zara said.
"Of course you can," I said. I kissed Zara and Hope. I began to walk away. "Be careful."
I heard more gun fire down and around the next hallway. When I turned the corner, I saw Penny, Thistle, and Yuki fighting off dozens of soldiers. Yuki had tons of fox fire lights floating in the air and she had several copied images of herself running around confusing the soldiers.
Thistle was taking cover and hiding in the fox fire lights and behind copies while stunning soldiers with her pacifier gun. Penny was running between the fire lights wearing wooden armor and slamming her wood reinforced fists into soldiers and making them go flying.
"I'm off," I said and left.
I made my way to the courtyard where the man was yelling. When I got there I was confused. I saw about 50 men wearing suits of armor and holding shotguns.
"There you are," the yelling man said, when I came into view. "Let's settle this. The Vampire Association wants this land. Give it up, and you can walk away. Otherwise, you and your girls are going home in body bags."
"We don't have homes. Where are our bodies going to go?" I said.
"I don't know!" He said. "Are you giving up the land or not?"
"No. Of course not," I said.
"That's what I'd hoped you'd say," the man said.
He lifted his shotgun and fired at me. I put up a blood shield to block but the shotgun pellets went straight through and hit me in the stomach. I went flying back and tumbled to the ground.
The pellets burned in my body. It was a familiar pain. It was the pain of silver. After all this training, I was still weak to silver. I needed to ask my mom how to get rid of this silver weakness if I survived this.
I ran away into one of the buildings while the soldiers fired shotguns at me. I made it into a building and hid in one of the rooms and locked the door. I needed to get the silver out of my stomach somehow, so I could heal.
I tried taking them out with my fingers but there were too many pellets and too many holes for that to be efficient and I didn't have much time before they found me.
I tried to push them out with Vi but it nullified to Vi as soon as it touched the silver. My next attempt was to push them out with blood. They could nullify the Vi in the blood, but they couldn't nullify the blood itself.
If I created enough pressure with the blood, theoretically, I should be able to remove them. I concentrated on pushing them out with my blood and after several attempts, the silver pellets shot out of my stomach wounds and landed on the ground several feet away.
I couldn't get shot again. I didn't think I'd have time to remove them on the battlefield. I could hear the soldiers rushing down the hallway. One of them tried the door to my room and found it locked. He started slamming his body into the solid wood door. It was holding up alright for now, but it wouldn't hold up for long.
