Chapter 321: Chapter 207: Seeking Advice

“Come in!” Uncle Ma worried that he might scare Li Shiming away, so after making him wait for more than two hours, he allowed Li Shiming into Dan Ding Peak.

At the summit of Dan Ding Peak stood the grand Dan Ding Hall, outside which Li Shiming landed.

A Pill Boy guided him into Dan Ding Hall, where they met Uncle Ma.

This was the first time Li Shiming had entered the alchemy domain of a Golden Core Elder; the hall was filled with the fragrant aroma of medicinal herbs. After his experience in alchemy, he had gained some knowledge about Spiritual Medicines and identified many of their scents.

However, he was unfamiliar with most of the scents, which was normal, as the hall rarely handled First Grade Elixirs, leaving behind more of the scent of Second and Third Grade Spiritual Medicines.

What caught his attention the most was a pill furnace that radiated an astonishing aura; it was the first thing he sensed as a treasured artifact.

...

Li Shiming had not only seen treasured artifacts, but he possessed a Sword Cultivator’s Lifebound Treasure and several other unique artifacts.

He was able to recognize the aura of a treasured artifact, yet the pill furnace before him had the strongest aura he had ever sensed in any treasured artifact.

Next to this treasured Pill Furnace, he saw neither spirit carbon nor any source of earth fire, which sparked his curiosity.

“Disciple Li Shiming greets Uncle Ma!” Li Shiming thought as he respectfully bowed to Uncle Ma and spoke while holding a jade box in his hands.

“Have you learned the alchemy heritage I gave you?” Uncle Ma asked indifferently, raising his eyes.

He was prepared mentally; if Li Shiming had not yet learned it, he would teach him a lesson.

In the entire Shushan Sect, as an Alchemy Master, whenever he offered to teach alchemy, anyone he pointed at would desperately kneel before him pleading for his guidance.

And yet, look at Li Shiming, who had made him wait for so many days.

“Disciple has tried to produce some Elixir Pills, please have a look!” Li Shiming, unaware of Uncle Ma’s thoughts, then took out a jade bottle and placed it on the jade box.

“Did you make this?” Uncle Ma looked at Li Shiming doubtfully.

Mainly because the quality of this ‘Mingxin Nine Palace Pill’ was simply too high; high-level indicated the highest grade in a batch of Elixir Pills, with top-grade Elixir Pills being an exceptional occurrence during the alchemy process.

“Yes, disciple has been diligently studying alchemy recently and has already been able to craft First Grade Elixirs!” Li Shiming bowed slightly and answered honestly.

Uncle Ma looked at the Elixir Pill in his hand and then at Li Shiming, feeling there was something amiss in his words.

What does it mean by already being able to craft First Grade Elixirs? If that’s considered able, what about his other Alchemy Disciples?

“Did you use Spiritual Fire?” Uncle Ma stared at Li Shiming as he asked.

Li Shiming looked back at Uncle Ma, bewildered.

If Spiritual Fire was spirit carbon, he indeed had used it, but judging by Uncle Ma’s expression, it didn’t seem to be about spirit carbon.

Besides, as a novice alchemist, what other Spiritual Fire could he use if not spirit carbon?

Seeing Li Shiming’s expression, Uncle Ma realized that Li Shiming probably had no idea what Spiritual Fire was.

“Alchemists are divided into two types, those with Spiritual Fire and those without!” Uncle Ma explained in a grave tone.

Li Shiming grew even more puzzled. He knew that alchemists were classified by their levels: novice, intermediate, advanced, and master; not the categories mentioned by Uncle Ma.

“Uncle, what is Spiritual Fire?” He couldn’t help but ask.
