"W-What?! I'm not pathetic, Mom! I tried, okay? But he just won't budge. It's not my fault." Eva argued back as she tried to calm down and stop crying.

"H-He's not like that!" Eva exclaimed, trying to defend her boyfriend. "James is a great guy who always treats me with kindness and respect. He always makes sure I'm comfortable and happy whenever we go on dates, and he even takes the time to help me with my problems whenever he can..."

"But he doesn't give you the physical attention and affection that you want. He refuses to touch you and only thinks about his family's stupid rules and traditions. And if he's already forcing his views on you, what do you think will happen once you two decide to marry?" Sasha interrupted her daughter, making Eva's blood run cold at those words. "Tell me. What do you expect will happen then? That he'll change? That he'll stop being such an uptight asshole and start being more understanding towards you and your wishes? Do you honestly believe that?"

"I..." Eva didn't know how to answer that question, so she fell silent, unable to say anything else.

"Let me tell you what will happen, my dear Eva." Sasha said with an amused tone of voice, which sent shivers down the young woman's back. "Once you get married, he will expect you to act like a proper housewife and stay at home to take care of the kids. You won't be able to work or have a life of your own, and if you wanted to go out with your friends, you would need his permission first. "Listen to your mother. Forget about James. Just throw him into the garbage bin where he belongs." As Eva listened to her mother's advice, a small smile formed on her face, and she let out a soft chuckle. Even though she didn't want to accept what her mom had said, part of her knew it to be true.

Her mother was always right, especially when it came to these things. She had been through enough experiences to understand men and know how they think, so she would never steer her daughter wrong when giving her advice.

And she felt happy that even though Sasha could sometimes be a little too overbearing and demanding with her, the woman still loved her dearly. It showed in the way that Sasha would always be there to listen to her problems and offer a solution. She could count on her mom no matter what happened, which was why Eva felt grateful to have her in her life.
