Rebirth Of The Scum Girl (Female Dominant)

Chapter 12

Chapter 12

Shen Meng agreed but then remembered what Wang Shuyue had said in the backyard earlier, so she asked Liang Jue, “Did you not like the dishes I served you at the table just now?”@@@@

Liang Jue quickly shook his head, “No, I liked all the dishes you served me.”

Shen Meng stared at him directly, “Be honest with me. You know, I could easily inquire about these matters from those who serve you personally.”

“I wasn’t lying. Normally, I don’t eat that dish, but if it’s served by you, I like it no matter what it is!” Perhaps afraid that Shen Meng would misunderstand him with a mouthful of lies, he quickly explained.

After speaking, he felt a bit ashamed, his face filled with embarrassment, his cheeks flushed with redness.

Shen Meng’s tone softened slightly, “If you truly feel that way, I’m glad, but you should know, when I serve you dishes, I want you to enjoy them a little more.”

“I’m always happy when you serve me dishes, no matter what they are.”

Liang Jue looked at Shen Meng, his eyes full of affection. Shen Meng felt a bit uncomfortable under his overly intense gaze, so she turned her face slightly away, avoiding direct eye contact with him. Perhaps because she had been treated well when she first married into the family, he seemed much livelier and more willing to express his feelings openly than she remembered.

Sometimes she wonders if what she’s doing is a mistake. After all, those are memories from her past life, and apart from her, no one in this world knows what really happened in the previous life.

If it weren’t for the changes among those related to Liang Jue, everything else seemed to align with her memories, and she even began to suspect if it was all just an elaborate dream. However, seeing Liang Jue’s lively demeanor, so different from the memories, she felt that this version of Liang Jue was more comforting.

Like now, although his enthusiasm was a bit excessive, it wasn’t off-putting. She softened her tone slightly, “Although that’s true, it’s always better to enjoy delicious food. If you don’t feel like talking about it now, you can give me a list later, at least let me know your preferences.”

She was never a domineering person, and if Liang Jue wasn’t willing, she wouldn’t force him to conform to her tastes.

The couple exchanged affectionate words in the warm room, while Wang Shuyue was left disheveled in the cold wind. The cold wind woke her up and made her realize what foolish things she had done earlier.

She felt a sense of dread and decided to spend another hour trying to sober up, but her body clearly couldn’t handle such turmoil. That night, she developed a high fever and was plagued by nightmares.

Despite being sick, she adamantly refused to stay at the mansion any longer and insisted on leaving early in the morning. Of course, she had a legitimate reason: “The doctor who often treats her at the mansion knows her body better and gives her more peace of mind. Besides, illnesses come and go unpredictably, and she doesn’t know when she’ll fully recover. She doesn’t want to trouble the Liang mansion.”

Originally, the Liang family wanted her to stay because they intended for her to be Liang Jue’s wife, but now that Liang Jue had married someone else, and not Wang Shuyue, the Liang family politely bid her farewell without much fuss.

From the surface, her appearance indeed seems unrelated to the mastermind behind the scenes, and although Liang Jue investigated and found no evidence implicating Wang Shuyue, he still added her name to the list of suspects. He reminded himself not to trust or act on his own judgment next time, whether it was Wang Shuyue or someone else.

After all, this time Shen Meng believed in him and was willing to listen to his explanation, but if it happened repeatedly, she would eventually be disappointed in him, something Liang Jue couldn’t bear.

With the cooperation of his mother and elder sister, Liang Jue spent a day investigating at the mansion, albeit discreetly, to avoid alerting anyone prematurely.

The next evening, Shen Meng asked him, “We must return tomorrow. Have you figured out everything?”

Liang Jue nodded and shook his head, “Today, I haven’t discussed the specifics too much, but we’ll go back together tomorrow.”

Early the next morning, Shen Meng dragged Liang Jue onto the carriage. As the carriage gradually left the Liang mansion, Shen Meng solemnly asked Liang Jue, “Today is the last day. Have you investigated everything?”

Liang Jue nodded slightly.

Shen Meng pressed on, “Then who was the person from that day, after all?”
