Chapter 1207: Black Mask

"Don't mention it. You and I are both members of the Reincarnation Palace, and I was the one who recruited you, so it's only right that I provide you with some guidance as you move up the ranks. By the way, once you get to Nine Origins City, come to the Cloud Peak Inn in the outer city. That's a secret outlet of our Reincarnation Palace, so it's a safe place for you to stay," Wyrm 3 said with a smile.@@@@

However, Han Li didn't appear to have heard her, and he was still examining the mask in his hands in silence.

Wyrm 3 faltered slightly upon seeing this, then asked, "Do you have any questions, Fellow Daoist Han?"

Han Li was silent for a moment longer, then said, "Fellow Daoist Wyrm 3, surely it's about time that you divulged more details pertaining to the mission to me."

Back when he was still at the High Zenith Palace, he didn't dare to ask too many questions about the mission for fear of being swept up into the conflict between the Heavenly Court and the Reincarnation Palace, but now that he had reached the Great Encompassment Stage, he was feeling bolder and ready to learn more.

"I don't know much about this mission myself, so I'm afraid that I have nothing to tell you even if I wanted to," Wyrm 3 sighed in an apologetic manner.

"We've known each other for quite some time already, Fellow Daoist Wyrm 3. I don't know your exact status in the Reincarnation Palace, but I can tell that you're quite high up in the hierarchy. To be frank, I think you know more about the mission that you're letting on. Seeing as we're going to be working together, I suggest you be more candid with me," Han Li said in a meaningful voice.

"I truly have no information to share, Fellow Daoist Han. This is an extremely important mission that's being personally overseen by the most powerful members of our Reincarnation Palace, and I'm serving as nothing more than a messenger," Wyrm 3 replied with a wry smile.

Han Li could see that she seemed to be telling the truth, but just to make sure, he decided to enlist Weeping Soul's help.

"Is she telling the truth, Weeping Soul?" he asked through voice transmission.

"This is only a projection, so I'm unable to detect her soul fluctuations, but judging from her expression, it doesn't seem like she's lying," Weeping Soul replied, and Han Li's brows furrowed slightly upon hearing this.

Wyrm 3 could see that Han Li wasn't very pleased with this answer, and she said, "I may not know much about the mission, but I have gathered some information that I'm sure you'd like to hear."

"Oh? What is it?" Han Li asked.

"Jin Tong is currently still in the Nine Origins Temple, and she's safe for now. Her captors are planning to offer her up to the Time Dao Ancestor during the Bodhi Banquet, so they won't do anything to harm her. In fact, they'll most likely even help her advance in her cultivation so that she makes for a more appealing gift," Wyrm 3 said.

He had already learned the Nine Origins Temple's objective for capturing Jin Tong, but it was still a relief to have the matter confirmed by Wyrm 3.

"The higher-ups seem to want you to do something before they reveal to you Jin Tong's location and the way to save her, but I haven't been told exactly what it is that they want you to do," Wyrm 3 continued.

"Thank you for gathering this information for me, Fellow Daoist Wyrm 3," Han Li said as he cupped his fist in a grateful salute.

At the same time, he couldn't help but wonder exactly what it was that the Reincarnation Palace wanted him to do.

"Right now, you're a core member of our Reincarnation Palace. We do tend to be a rather mysterious organization, but we definitely won't try to plot against our own members, so you can rest assured, Fellow Daoist Han," Wyrm 3 said.

"Of course. Otherwise, I wouldn't have joined," Han Li replied with a nod.

Han Li stepped inside, arriving in a half that was several thousand feet in size, with everyone making their way deeper into the hall.

At the very rear of the hall were dozens of entrances, above each of which was a name of a place in the greater Golden Origin Immortal Region.

Nine Origins City, Golden Origin City, and Hundred Creation City were among these names, and those three entrances were also the most popular ones.

Han Li began making his way toward the Nine Origins City passageway.

The Sun Moon Boathouse was a transportation business under the Sun Moon Alliance. The alliance had invented a special type of flying boat called the Sun Moon Flying Boat, which could draw upon the power of celestial bodies to fly at incredible speeds, making them perfect for transporting goods and customers between all of the important cities of the greater Golden Origin Immortal Region.

Not only were Sun Moon Flying Boats extraordinarily fast, they were far cheaper to access than teleportation arrays, making them very popular among the less financially privileged.

There were teleportation arrays leading to Nine Origins City from Gilded City, but all of them were under the control of the Heavenly Court. Given all of the unrest in the Immortal Realm, the Heavenly Court was being extra vigilant in its examination of teleportation arrays, so even with this black mask, Han Li didn't want to take the risk.

On top of that, a Sun Moon Flying Boat was more than fast enough to get him to Nine Origins City within thirty years.

Han Li stepped into the Nine Origins City entrance, and after passing through a long corridor, he arrived in a hall that was over three hundred feet in size.

There were many chairs in the hall, some of which were already occupied, and there were also two blue-robed Sun Moon Alliance cultivators present.

Han Li was approached by a blue-robed, middle-aged man upon entry, who cupped his fist in a salute as he asked, "Are you traveling to Nine Origins City, Fellow Daoist?"

"That's right," Han Li replied with a nod.

He had suppressed his own cultivation base to the Golden Immortal Stage in order to not attract attention.

"You came at the perfect time, Fellow Daoist. The boat to Nin Origins City departs once a month, and the next one is scheduled to depart tomorrow," the man said with a faint smile.

"That is indeed great timing. How much will it cost?" Han Li asked.

Before the Sun Moon Alliance cultivator had a chance to reply, Han Li was approached by a group of four cultivators, one of whom proposed, "Would you be interested in purchasing a ticket for a large room with us, Fellow Daoist? We can save a lot of Immortal Origin Stones by splitting the costs among the five of us."

All four of them were at the Golden Immortal Stage, and they were led by a gray-robed elderly man.

He was accompanied by a black-robed young man who appeared to have been twenty years of age at most, a red-robed young man with a voluptuous figure and beautiful facial features, and an elegant woman in a white nun robe.

Despite her attire, the woman in white had a head of long hair and a white longsword strapped to her back, both of which were rather unbefitting of a nun.

Han Li was immediately rooted to the spot at the sight of the four cultivators because he recognized all of them aside from the black-robed young man!
