Chapter 307 : Why The Hell Are You Looking For My Girlfriend?
Chapter 307 : Why The Hell Are You Looking For My Girlfriend?
"Um... Greetings, esteemed adventurer. I'm Eva, the receptionist here at Raven's Blade Nookbury Branch. Your presence is unfamiliar to me. Might I inquire if you're seeking someone or something specific?" Eva asked, maintaining the utmost politeness in her expression.
Unfortunately, Shye didn't even get the chance to cordially respond as three hulking adventurers—seemingly warriors—surrounded him and rudely spoke.
"Hey, why are you making trouble for Miss Eva? Can't you see that outsiders aren't welcome here?" remarked one of the adventurers, his voice dripping with hostility.
"Heh, let me warn you, boy, don't cross my boss, Jason. Things wouldn't end well for you if you do!" another adventurer threatened.
Sadly, they wasted their saliva for nothing as Shye merely ignored them and proceeded to answer Receptionist Eva's question.
"Hello, Miss Eva. I'm from Raven's Blade Balkrow Branch and I'm looking for someone named Shirley Locke."
"H-HEY! YOU DARE IGNORE US?! WE'RE TALKING TO YOU, LITTLE BASTARD!" the third adventurer angrily exclaimed.
However, soon after, Jason, the leader of the three, stopped the third adventurer from attacking, motioning for him to listen to why the bastard was looking for Shirley Locke, this year's most beautiful and strongest female rookie.
He, Jason, narrowly lost to Shirley and ended up in fifth place, hence, she earned not only his respect but also his heart.
Lately, Jason found his motivation to excel not only in climbing the adventurer ranks but also in honing his physique and skills, all driven by his desire to win over Shirley's heart, the coveted female rookie admired by all.
Not only was her face beautiful, but her body was also attractive, and her cold demeanor seemed to ignite men's desire to conquer her.
Unfortunately, the competition was cutthroat as even the first and second-ranked rookies had ideas to woo her.
This is the reason why Jason was working so hard.
He wanted to be the man who would bring the belle home.
Now, this young man from who knows where popped up and was looking for Shirley, the goddess amongst rookies.
Sensing the hostility in the atmosphere, Eva swallowed nervously.
She didn't want to be part of such skirmishes as she was nothing but a mundane receptionist.
Still, she wasn't stupid and she knew that the rookie named Jason wanted her to ask what the young man from another branch was up to.
Meanwhile, the veterans asked the rookies in the know about who the heck Shye Crowley was.
The darned guy seemed like some super celebrity and they felt like hillbillies for not knowing who he was.
After a short while, the veterans finally understood why some of the rookies went wild with crazy, finding their responses to be reasonable.
"Oh! So this guy is the ace representative of this year's champion academy huh? Damn...How did Raven's Blade secure such a super rookie?"
"Holy crap...this guy's a literal celebrity, no?"
"I heard he is looking for that new smokeshow of a rookie, Shirley Locke. Could it be...?"
"Nah, there's no way. Didn't you see with your own eyes how cold that female rookie was? I have a hunch she's not interested in men, but rather in women!"
"I think so too!"
Hearing the words of a few guild veterans, Shye almost burst out laughing, fortunately, he was able to suppress it, opting to listen to their amusing conversations instead.
On the other hand, Jason and his lackeys were utterly shocked.
No wonder the guy was so arrogant!
However, Jason didn't feel the need to back down.
Wasn't this the ideal moment to demonstrate that the graduates from the academies will always pale in comparison to them, the genuine elites meticulously trained by their esteemed adventurer parents?
Although there were indeed quite a few talented individuals amongst the academy graduates, Jason believed that a top-tier "true elite" would almost always come out on top against a top-tier academy graduate.
Those were only based on his experience sparring against the so-called "top-tier true elites" though so there wasn't any solid proof that true elites were better than academy graduates.
Well, if there isn't any, then why doesn't he just create one?
Walking closer towards Shye, Jason decided to say the stupidest thing he could have ever said.
"Hoh, Shye Crowley, a top-tier academy graduate huh? And why the hell are you looking for my girlfriend?"
