Chapter 527 - 526: Avoiding Her
Chapter 527 - 526: Avoiding Her
Damian Sinclair withdrew his gaze and asked, "How did Aunt Sienna suddenly fall ill when she was fine in the hospital?"
Bea’s eyes avoided his.
Damian Sinclair said, "Tell the truth."
"Alright, alright, I’ll tell the truth," Bea said. "Aunt Sienna arranged to meet with Mom to discuss the matter between you and Bella, at that teahouse not far from across the hospital. But as the conversation ended, Aunt Sienna suddenly fainted."
Damian Sinclair frowned, "Blythe Sinclair, did you just ignore what I told you?"
Bea raised her hands, "It’s not my fault this time. Aunt Sienna sent me a message herself to arrange to meet Mom."
"Does she... does she know about this?" Damian Sinclair’s expression quickly flashed a hint of awkwardness.
He had clearly warned others not to mention Bella Acker in front of him, yet he was the one who brought it up first.
"It seems Aunt Sienna snuck out of the hospital without telling Bella. Brother, Bella usually comes back to check on Aunt Sienna around noon, and it’s already eleven o’clock, aren’t you going to hide?" Bea checked her watch and teased, raising an eyebrow.
"I’m here to visit Aunt Sienna, what does it have to do with her," Damian Sinclair said expressionlessly, looking straight ahead.
Bea pouted, "I almost believed you."
As they were talking, the door to the emergency room finally opened. Director Warren came out with two specialist doctors and a chief physician, and upon seeing Damian Sinclair, he immediately stepped forward and said, "Mr. Sinclair, the patient’s condition has stabilized and she can be sent back to the ward shortly."
"Thank you, Director Warren," Damian Sinclair nodded.
"Treating and saving lives is our duty as doctors, Mr. Sinclair, you’re too kind," Director Warren smiled. "By the way, Mr. Sinclair, I need to explain the patient’s situation to you. Her cancer cells have completely mutated. Even if we continue to use the best imported drugs to prolong her life, it can only extend her time by about two months. Are you sure you want to continue using the previous imported drugs?"
Such imported drugs cost over hundreds of thousands per day, which is not affordable for an ordinary family.
Of course, this kind of money is nothing to Damian Sinclair, but Director Warren mentioned it because he felt that at this stage, it wasn’t necessary to spend so much money just to extend a life.
"Continue using them," Damian Sinclair said. "But if the caregiver asks, just charge according to the previous prescription, and don’t say anything more."
"Understood," Director Warren nodded, "Mr. Sinclair, now that the serious matters are discussed, how about a cup of tea in my office?"
"Sorry, I have other matters to attend to, I’ll treat Director Warren to tea another day. Also, the batch of medical equipment you mentioned before will be delivered to your hospital next month."
"Really? That’s wonderful," Director Warren’s smile brightened even more. "Mr. Sinclair, thank you so much for your generous donation. With this batch of medical equipment, we can treat even more patients. Mr. Sinclair, you’re a truly good person."
"I’m just doing my small part."
The three doctors accompanying Director Warren also brightened at the news of new medical equipment being delivered.
Director Warren exchanged some more pleasantries with Damian Sinclair before leaving with his team after a nurse wheeled Aunt Sienna out of the emergency room.
Aunt Sienna was sent back to the ward with oxygen and an IV drip, just as Bea, standing by the bed, saw Bella Acker getting out of a car and walking towards them. She hurriedly said, "Brother, Bella is here."
