Chapter 377 CHAPTER 387 - The Unstoppable Dawn Pirates
Chapter 377 CHAPTER 387 - The Unstoppable Dawn Pirates
"Trying to leave? Not a chance! Everyone, pursue!" Admiral Kizaru's face was stern as he transformed into light and shot forward, leading elite Marines like Vice Admiral Momonga.
Rosen covered the rear, while Enel and Daz Bones forged a path ahead, carving through the Marines. Snakes of electricity danced wildly, forests of metal erupted from the ground, and Robin held the center.
Given Robin's current strength, even a Vice Admiral candidate might not pose a threat to her. Conversely, she could threaten Vice Admiral-level combatants, though she still couldn't oppose an Admiral.
Even so, her combat power had now surpassed Daz Bones, making her the crew's fourth-strongest fighter. It showed just how terrifying the power of a well-synergized pair of Devil Fruits could be.
Moreover, this particular fruit complemented Robin's pre-existing Flower-Flower Fruit abilities perfectly. Otherwise, Rosen would have kept it for himself instead of giving it to her.
The four of them formed a 2-1-1 formation, a common battlefield arrangement. With two in front and one each directly behind in a straight line, they moved like a war blade, plowing through the battlefield. Even a single Vice Admiral would be severely wounded almost instantly by their combined assault.
Kizaru, close behind, launched attacks that were all intercepted by Rosen. Combatants of the same level could indeed defend against each other's attacks, though it came at significant cost.
Even when Kizaru closed in at extreme speed, his light-speed kicks couldn't breach Rosen's defense. Especially if he dared get closer, Rosen's Pulverize ability, once activated, made even Kizaru extremely wary.
Several Marines threw themselves at them along the way, only for Kizaru to witness those men vanish into thin air.
"BOSS, Sister Hathaway…" Miss Valentine, who had somehow regrouped with Mr. 5 and found them by following the signal of the tornado sandstorm, spoke up. They had each defeated formidable foes and were now responsible for defense on the left and right flanks.
Their abilities weren't weak at all. As long as they didn't encounter a Vice Admiral alone, they had decent self-preservation capabilities on the battlefield.
"I know," Rosen nodded.
"Who's up ahead? Luffy and Sabo." Rosen led everyone towards the battlefield where Hathaway and Akainu were, spotting familiar faces.
And the situation didn't look good. He saw Fleet Admiral Sengoku beginning to transform, his body starting to glow with golden light. This was bad news. Logically, Sengoku shouldn't act recklessly.
The entire battle situation still required his command. Otherwise, the Marines' numerical and strength advantages wouldn't be fully utilized in the massive melee.
Though if he just held his ground at the execution platform, it shouldn't be a major problem. But even stationary, his power was not to be underestimated.
"If Fire Fist Ace survives, the New World is going to get very interesting, and the World Government will have a major headache. Let him draw some of Marine Headquarters' hatred for us. But I wonder if you'll actually make it…" Rosen suddenly made a decision.
After this war, neither Marine Headquarters nor the World Government would underestimate him again. They might even hunt him down frantically. The best protection for him and his crew was to disperse their forces as much as possible.
"Luffy, dodge!" Sabo, seeing the golden light envelop Sengoku as he transformed into a giant Buddha, was utterly horrified.
"You're really something, don't underestimate me like that," Rufus said helplessly. Seizing the moment Sabo was distracted, he launched a fierce kick, his long leg covered in shimmering, transparent ripples like water.
The strike sent Sabo, clad in Armament Haki, flying. The moment the kick connected, Sabo's chest contorted. His Haki shattered, flesh and bone twisted, leaving him severely wounded.
"Such a troublesome ability," Sabo's expression was grave. The distortion power his enemy wielded could not only twist and deflect his own attack force but also be attached to his strikes, inflicting maximum damage.
"Blame the path you chose, pirates," Fleet Admiral Sengoku's golden light blazed brightly. His giant Buddha form was fully complete. He stood before them all like a golden mountain, poised to strike.
However, at that moment, Garp and Whitebeard erupted in a clash that shocked and even terrified the entire battlefield.
Garp's entire right arm was sheathed in Haki. With a simple, direct punch, he struck Whitebeard's Murakumogiri. In an instant, Haki pierced through the atmosphere, clouds, sea, and earth. The very heavens and earth seemed to crumble as the scene changed dramatically.
Boom! Both men's Haki had reached an extremely high level. Though their clash was on the ground, at that moment, the sky—churning with dark clouds stirred by various auras—was instantly torn open by several abyss-like fissures, hanging grotesquely overhead.
Marine Headquarters shook with an earthquake measuring at least magnitude 8 or higher from just the aftershocks of this single clash. The sea also swelled with a substantial tsunami.
"Is… is this the power of Whitebeard and the Marine Hero Garp?!" For a moment, it seemed the entire battlefield fell silent. This was truly terrifying, a genuine cataclysm.
"Vice Admiral Garp!!" Morale soared among the Marines. To block the slash of the world's strongest man, capable of destroying the world, with just his fists… he was too powerful.
He seemed even more domineering and powerful than Admiral Akainu.
"With such a veteran entering the fray, isn't Marine Headquarters afraid this battle will descend into an uncontrollable free-for-all? If the Whitebeard Pirates escape then, it'll be quite a show," Doflamingo, even from a distance, was awed by the power of these two.
This was power not inferior to that monster Kaido. Truly frightening. But it also signified a certain loss of control, slowly slipping from the Marines' grasp.
"Two monsters from the same era," even Hawkeye made such an assessment. It seemed he still had some distance to go to reach their level. His swordsmanship could grow stronger still.
"Old man!"...
Everyone was shocked by this clash, Rosen included. These two were far stronger than he was now. Of course, it didn't make him feel they were unreachable—he was, after all, Admiral-level. But this power was truly formidable.
This strength wasn't just physical; it embodied their intense spirit and will—resilient, nearly indestructible, and utterly resolute.
Rosen had originally considered testing himself against a Yonko to gauge the difference, but now it seemed less necessary. This clash had made it clear.
Two men from the same era, that strike was undoubtedly a full-power, no-holds-barred blow. It was both understanding and respect.
"Aren't you afraid of destroying Marine Headquarters?" Whitebeard laughed, looking at Garp.
"If it's destroyed, we'll rebuild it. It's not like it hasn't happened before," Garp didn't want to talk, his mood sour. He threw another punch. Whitebeard's tremor power met it head-on. This punch was still overwhelmingly powerful.
Their attacks colliding was like a peal of thunder, each one long in the making.
"Has the situation really developed to such an uncontrollable level?" Aokiji slashed through part of Jozu's defense with an ice blade, wounding him, then looked towards the increasingly chaotic battlefield, beginning to feel anxious.
This war might be even more brutal than they had anticipated. After all, Sengoku and Garp represented Marine Headquarters' final line of defense.
At the execution platform, Sengoku didn't leave his position. Instead, he threw a punch towards Luffy and the others. A golden shockwave pressed down like the entire sky collapsing, difficult to dodge and covering a vast area.
"Boom!" The instant the golden light crashed down, a much smaller black mist shockwave erupted from the ground. Simultaneously, several pillars of lightning and a giant tornado sandstorm shot up from the earth.
A deafening explosion echoed as all attacks collided, shattering the execution platform and the surrounding ground. The platform toppled.
"Ace!" Whitebeard and his crew were startled. Sengoku's earlier attack had enveloped Fire Fist Ace as well.
For a moment, Whitebeard and many of his commanders were distracted.
"Whitebeard, die!" Akainu burst from the ground, his entire body molten magma. With a move called "Hell Hound," he pierced through space and distance, striking accurately into Whitebeard's body, wreaking destruction once more.
"Old man! Damn it, that bastard Akainu, he ambushed the old man!"
"Damn these Marines, kill them all!"
"Old man!!!"... Many pirate commanders were distracted, filled with worry and rage. In that moment, many were wounded or even killed by the Marines.
In such a battle, distraction was fatal, even for a moment. But human emotion is not something easily controlled at will.
Garp's pinning down and Whitebeard's distraction created the perfect opportunity for Akainu.
Not far away, Hathaway, covered in burns from magma and bruised all over, still resisted with her Haki.
She suddenly let out a roar of fierce defiance, releasing her Conqueror's Haki to its limit. All the magma was blasted away. At the same time, her Haki advanced a step further, and her overall combat power truly reached the Admiral level—she was now a dual-specialty Admiral! In this moment, her physical limits were broken by her defiance and fury.
Countless Marines and pirates nearby fell unconscious from that single roar. Even the ground beneath her feet cracked from the intense Conqueror's Haki.
"Akainu," Garp frowned. Even in war, he deeply disliked Akainu's method of ambushing Whitebeard during what he saw as a fair, head-on fight.
...
"Crocodile!" Fleet Admiral Sengoku's expression was also unpleasant, for the ones who had just blocked his attack were none other than the Dawn Pirates.
"From here on, you're on your own. Sandstorm Wave!" Rosen flicked his hand, and several waves of quicksand erupted from the ground, carrying Luffy, Sabo, and the others to the vicinity of the collapsed execution platform.
"Mr. Sengoku, aren't you curious who sent me flying into this battlefield? The Blackbeard Pirates are watching from the sidelines, lying in wait. Shouldn't you be a bit more cautious?" Seeing Sengoku about to attack again, Rosen offered a friendly reminder.
And amidst the crowd, unnoticed behind a piece of rubble, a certain clown and his underlings trembled in fear...
