The Alpha's Regret: Return Of The Betrayed Luna

Chapter 524 Feeling The Ripple

Chapter 524 Feeling The Ripple

If his self-control had slipped even slightly, he might have stormed into the tent and joined them without hesitation.

Zion, doing his business outside, fared no better. The continuous overwhelming restlessness inside him had pushed his instincts into a frenzy, his breathing heavy and uneven as he fought the primal urge clawing at him.

And they weren’t the only ones affected. Chase, who had only recently discovered Addison was his fated mate, had felt as though he’d been drenched in a potent aphrodisiac.

With no outlet and his body reacting violently to the bond, he had locked himself away, muffling his own strained grunts as he tried to relieve the maddening tension alone, his mind shamefully filled with thoughts of her while the bond pulsed relentlessly in his veins.

With no outlet for the maddening tension building inside him, Chase had no choice but to resort to using his own hand. Lying on the bed, he bit down hard on the fabric of his shirt to muffle any sound as his hand wrapped around his cock, stroking himself in quick, desperate motions.

He was painfully hard, throbbing and needy, precum already leaking from the tip and smearing along his palm as his grip tightened.

Even after he came once, his body refused to settle. The heat in his veins only stirred more violently, leaving him restless and unbearably aroused, his cock staying stubbornly erect as if it hadn’t been satisfied at all.

Gritting his teeth, he continued stroking himself again, breath shaky and uneven as Addison’s beautiful face kept surfacing in his mind no matter how much he tried to push it away. The bond tugged at his instincts relentlessly, making every thought of her feel vivid, intimate, and dangerously tempting.

When he finally finished again, his body slackened slightly, but a wave of guilt quickly followed. He stared blankly ahead, chest heaving, feeling as though he had shamefully tainted the image of Addison in his mind.

He didn’t understand what was happening to him, why his desire had spiraled so out of control so suddenly. Yet, as a werewolf, a creature naturally driven by instinct and deep sensual bonds, part of him knew this reaction wasn’t entirely unnatural.

Still, he could only bite his lower lip and try to pacify the guilt gnawing at him. No one had ever explained the complexity of sharing a single fated she-wolf with others, a bond so rare it was practically unheard of.

Because of that, Chase had no idea that the restless arousal and uncontrollable hunger surging through him didn’t originate from himself at all; it was the echo of his fated mate mating with her other partners.

And since he was bound to her, even indirectly, he couldn’t help but feel every ripple of that connection coursing through his body as if he were experiencing it alongside them.

Once Maxwell was certain no other warriors were lingering anywhere near Addison’s tent, and that opening the flap wouldn’t let her lingering pheromones spill out into the air like a dangerous invitation to every unmated wolf nearby, he finally turned back toward it.

If not for that concern, he would have returned long ago, either to stop Levi or to step in himself instead of being left outside to endure hours of that torturous, gnawing heat clawing at his gut.

The longer he stayed away, the worse the burning desire coiled inside him, heavy, restless, and impossible to ignore. It left him irritable and on edge, his jaw tight as the scent of Addison still clung faintly to the air and kept provoking his possessive instincts.

Part of him was deeply annoyed that Levi had taken so long, his mind repeatedly imagining what was happening inside the tent while he was forced to hold himself back.

Yet, even as frustration and jealousy simmered under his skin, he couldn’t truly fault Levi. After all, he knew very well that he, and most likely Zion too, had taken their own chances to be alone with Addison before, acting just as selfishly when the opportunity arose.

None of them were innocent when it came to her. They all craved her, all wanted her attention, her warmth, her time. And if he was being honest with himself, what truly irritated him wasn’t just Levi’s length of time inside... but the fact that Levi got to have her to himself for hours, indulging in her scent, her body, and her presence without having to share her with the rest of her fated mates.

After taking a moment to steady his breathing and forcibly rein in the restless heat gnawing at him, Maxwell finally pushed open the tent’s flap and stepped inside.

The sight that greeted him made his expression darken almost instantly. Levi was still sprawled on top of Addison, his heavy body pinning her down as he slept like nothing had happened, while Addison, who had clearly just woken up, was weakly trying to shove him aside just to get enough space to breathe.

Her arms trembled slightly with the effort, her body still visibly drained and sore as she struggled beneath his weight.

The moment her eyes landed on the entrance and met Maxwell’s gaze, she froze.

Her entire body stiffened, and an inexplicable sense of guilt surged through her chest, as if she had been caught red-handed doing something she shouldn’t have. The lingering intimacy in the air, the disheveled bed, and Levi still draped over her only made the scene look even more incriminating.

Then she quickly reminded herself that Maxwell was her fated mate.

So was Levi.

So were Zion and Chase.

There was nothing wrong with her mating with any of them.

She repeated that logic in her mind over and over, trying to suppress the awkward tension twisting in her chest, though it still felt unfamiliar and hard to accept. Forcing herself to react, she tried to give Maxwell a smile, but it came out stiff and strained, more pitiful than reassuring, like someone on the verge of tears.

Seeing her like that, weak, flushed, and clearly exhausted, the sharp irritation and jealousy in Maxwell’s chest faltered, replaced by a heavy sense of helplessness. His jaw tightened before he strode straight to the bed without another word.

With controlled strength, he reached down and grabbed Levi by the shoulder, pulling his heavy body off Addison with ease. If Addison hadn’t been right there watching, he would have tossed Levi straight onto the ground without a second thought, consequences be damned.

But because she was in front of him, he restrained himself, carefully shifting Levi to the other side of the bed instead.

Still, the annoyance lingering in his chest couldn’t be completely suppressed.

So at the very last second, just as Addison was slowly propping herself up and not fully paying attention, Maxwell let go a little less gently than he should have, causing Levi’s body to drop onto the mattress with a dull thud, a small, petty act of punishment disguised under controlled composure.

But whatever faint smugness he felt vanished almost immediately.

The moment he pulled Levi off Addison, he realized something that made his expression stiffen, Levi had actually fallen asleep with his cock still deeply buried inside her.
