“You… You’re lying! He would never forget about me!”Edrick smiled and backhanded her across the face. Fingmi fell to the ground in silence, beginning to quietly sob. Just as he wanted, she still had hope in her bones–Hope that her Alrin would come to save her like a hero, and she surely was correct in this assumption. He would definitely come eventually. Once he believed himself capable of handling the obstacles in his way...
“You dare raise your voice at your master, wench?”
“I am… I am sorry, Master…”
“Don’t apologise with words. Apologise with actions–Get back to work”
“Y-Yes, Master…”
Sobbing and trembling, she went back to polishing Anoteros’ heavy cannon.
Since she wasn’t a crest bearer, Edrick needed to test her every once in a while to check what kind of headspace she was in, and also… As an uncrested servant, she could serve as a Viot-toy who could be made to genuinely cry. She was the only one like this in the residence. All the other maids were obedient and hungry to serve their master. The only tears that could be gotten out of them were tears of joy.
Indeed, for a man of dark appetite like Edrick, the crests cut off a way for him to enjoy himself… Well, he would probably eventually set something up in the basement area... Quarters reserved for uncrested servants who could do things for him that crest bearers couldn’t.
He would have to see how exactly he would set such a thing up... In any case, now that Fingmi was hard at work making something hard shine… It was time to go back to checking out the innate abilities he owned.
Not much was to be said about Endless Spring. It was a good ability, especially combined with Cleansing Elixir, but an upgrade did not seem necessary.
This ability had not yet seen much usage. Most of the prey Edrick had hunted down so far had already been too weak to resist him in the first place. However, he could definitely see how it might be a good idea to upgrade this ability. After all, Anoteros would definitely be Viotting many more prey in the future, and his targets were likely to only be getting stronger and stronger as time went on.
Thus, an argument could be made that it would be a good investment for the future.
Another ability that hadn’t seen much usage, again due to the strength disparity between him and his targets. In terms of usefulness, it was less widely applicable than Carnal Throes. Hence, with only one opportunity for an upgrade, there was no chance for this one to be picked.
The secondary effect of this ability was basically Balls To The Wall, but with the restriction of requiring the activities to something akin to a Lagneiefest. Coupled with Balls To The Wall being shared with others, it indeed allowed for some fairly crazy actions.
So far, it had never fallen short. Hence why it didn’t seem necessary to upgrade it.
‘Magic Fingers works just fine, and Gold Is Gold isn’t really that important at the moment…’
Edrick didn’t consider them for an upgrade much at all.
‘Purging Advance is already incredibly effective. And Victor’s Right… It might be worth it to upgrade it, but…’
After this, there was only Hidden Snake left, which Anoteros had already checked the details of. As such, it was now time to make his decision. There were a few options that appeared to be worth it, but having to deal with a constant expansion of his man-brain…
‘I’ll upgrade Balls To The Wall, System’
A few moments passed, and this time around, Edrick felt it clearly when the change occurred. Although the naming convention of his ‘innate’ abilities was a bit off–As they were very obviously not innate since he was acquiring them one by one–It nonetheless implied that they were more closely linked to his being than mere techniques.
He felt a sharp pain in a place no man wanted to feel pain from, but only for a short moment.
He exhaled.
‘That was actually quite sudden and strong’
‘Reverse the effects? Sounds interesting…’
He looked down at Fingmi, putting his hand against her head as he pushed her down onto his length.
‘...Let’s see how it works, exactly’
With the ability to inverse the effects, and finer control overall, it should mean that Edrick was now able to do pretty much whatever he wanted.
He kept the basic stuff, allowing Fingmi to easily take his length, but reduced how much her ability to take his girth was enhanced, resulting in her still being able to do her job, but struggling with how thick the sceptre was.
