Chapter 342 The war begins
"That's none of my problem. What I want now is for you to tell me your network, tell me the details of the demon blood production, who gave it to you, and how I can reach them," Silva asked.
"They aren't people you can just reach. Rachel, one of them, are mighty figures. The demon blood is the greatest research that the empire has done in years.
With it, humans will be sure to win the best war, regardless of the heroes and demon kings. We will be able to turn the tides of the war by replicating a true demon.
Just one, just one demon is rumored to possess power greater than that of a hero or demon king. If the empire gets blood good enough, we can have several," the man said, a glint of excitement in his eyes.
"So the empire wants to start a war?" Silva asked.
"Not just any war, the best great war, the war that will finally decide who takes the win: humans or those filthy vermin," the man said.
Silva finally realized. So, this is why Ophelia wanted the blood to be stopped. It was not part of her task; it was the key point of the task.@@@@
The blood was a heavy risk, and with it, the war would begin, and lives would be lost by the millions.
"But that's not all. I have an acquaintance that informed me it might just be possible to use the blood to actually summon a real demon, a true demon," the man added.
As soon as Silva heard that, it all finally clicked—the threat level of the blood, the plans of the empire. It all finally made sense.
If the empire tried to summon demons, they would shatter the veil, releasing the demons and the celestials back. It would be the end of it all.
"When does the plan go active?" Silva asked.
"Silva, please help us." That was the only thing she said before the connection disrupted.
Silva felt as though a chain had been wrapped around his heart and was ringing it tightly. Without hesitation, he transformed into a dragon right there. His tail swung and heavily damaged the manor.
The guardians all got on his back, and with one heavy flap of his wings, he shot into the air, causing a sonic boom so loud that people literally fainted.
Before the memory could even react to the fact that there was a dragon in their territory, Silva had left their borders entirely. He flew the fastest he had ever flown before.
"Everything was a distraction. They played us," Silva said as he flew. "Lena, everything, they all played a part to trick us.
And I swear on my life, if I lay my hands on the person that betrayed us, the person that ratted us out, I'll make sure he dies an unimaginable death," Silva spoke in rage.
Going at this speed, it would still take a good three to four hours before he arrived at the kingdom. He used every trick to boost his speed, but even that would not be enough to make him reach as fast as he wanted.
"Kratos, where is the wyvern army?" Silva asked. Kratos closed his eyes, and then, a while after, he opened them.
"I can say for a fact, Master, that they are locked in battle, but I could not see anything more. Also, a good number of them have died—almost half of them.
Whatever it is that they are fighting, Master, it's just something they can't take on," Kratos explained.
After a two-hour flight, they finally made it to the borders of the kingdom. Silva flew straight for the capital, but what they saw there made their hearts drop even further.
A massive dome was spread out, covering the entire capital. Silva could see the battles and explosions happening inside the dome. He flew, rushing, not caring. He slammed into the dome, but the force spread across the dome and went into the ground, completely canceling out the attack.
