for murphy and gray, the most appealing thing about this bookshelf was that it was surrounded by numerous bookshelves naming different things regarding curses.

there were shelves with books about understanding them, how to perform them, what they were, and so on. but in the middle of all those was one solitary shelf that housed only three types of books, with dozens of copies each. moreover, these books didn't seem to have an author, or at least it wasn't specified on the cover of the book.

that would naturally attract their attention.

but matthew was looking at something else.

he didn't hesitate to move forward and grab the first book. he had seen that name a short time ago.

seeing matthew grab that one, gray and murphy were somehow tempted to grab it, too.

matthew paid no attention to them. he focused his attention on the book.

'if i'm not mistaken, this book must be concerning my father.' he thought.

he immediately opened it without wasting any time.

on the other side of the cover, there was a blank page with only a few words in the middle.

'this again? now that i remember, i have to read volume 2 of that thing... i'd forgotten about it.' he thought. still, it was curious to find these words that appeared in dietrich's road book again.

that's why he couldn't help but open the next pages.

what was before him was not just any story.

but this one was about something different.

it was a glimpse of what a person would encounter when they took the step to reach 150,000 power.
