Chapter 173 Apparently, This Is A Dream Ship
"I'm boreeeeeed," Amber groaned.
I turned from where I was seated in the cockpit to raise an eyebrow at her, "You can always just go back to sleep like I told you."
"I already told you I'm fine already, Tera! It's been a night! Look, look!!"
She pulled up her shirt to show me the place where she had been shot.
That foam thing really works because there's not even a scar left there after a day and it wasn't just her either because the wound on my arm was also gone the next day.
When Amber was showing it off though, Lea looked like there was something she wanted to say but in the end chose to purse her lips before walking off to check on her plants.
Bimic was also with us in the cockpit though he was keeping himself busy by tinkering with some kind of device in his hands.
I asked him what that was the first time I saw it and he said that it was just something he was working on after seeing my Codex. Apparently he was trying to replicate it.
I thought he would ask to inspect my Codex but surprisingly, he did not.
Speaking of which, I already opened the file I got from that data chip and found its contents were similar to the other two.
When I moved it into the same folder, even more images were unlocked though the number did not even reach a tenth of the total files within the folder.
I wonder how many of these data chips were there?
Also, with a galaxy this big, I'm surprised we've already encountered three of them. Granted, two were from the same place but the third one we had literally obtained through sheer luck and nothing else.
Had someone else responded to Saulo's distress beacon, we would not have found it.
Amber got off her seat and came over to me to hug me from behind, "What are you doing?"
"Just looking through the GalNet for ships that we could buy. Frankly... I have yet to find one that would suit our needs..."
Amber shrugged, "I'm not surprised. We need a ship that has a hangar bay big enough for both of our ships that would also be able to hold its own in a fight. We'd at least need a D Class Frigate or Light Cruiser for that. And those ships definitely won't be able to be manned by just the three of us alone. We'd need a crew to staff it."
I laid back in my seat, "And those ships cost upwards of five hundred million at least... That's way out of our budget right now... I guess the other way is to sell off my ship and get a C Class ship that has a hangar bay that can house your ship."
Amber gasped, "No way! If anything, I should be the one selling my ship instead! You can't sell your ship, Tera!"
I raised an eyebrow, "Why not? I'm most likely going to fly the new ship instead of this one after we get it anyway, right?"
"This is a Verlandi, Tera! Do you know how rare this is?"
A loud crash came from behind and the both of us turned to see Bimic had fallen off his chair and was now in the midst of getting back up.
He stared at us with wide eyes, "Wa... Wait... This is a Verlandi?!"
"My ship. I said no."
The guy looked dejected by my rejection but decided not to press the issue and sat back down on his chair. The difference was that he was no longer interested in the device he had been tinkering with and was now looking around the cockpit like he was in some kind of exhibition instead.
I can allow him that much at least, as long as he isn't taking recordings of my ship and potentially leaking them outside.
I turned my chair back before picking up my Codex again, "Anyway... Isn't your ship important to you as well, Amber? Are you willing to sell it just like that?"
She shrugged, "If I had to pick between selling your ship or mine, I'd definitely pick selling mine over yours, Tera."
"Mnn... Well, it's not really a priority right now anyway. We're still doing good with our current arrangement so no need to make any big changes. Besides, we're still a small team of three and I don't exactly want to just hire anyone."
Amber nodded, "Mmhmm, mmhmm~ I totally agree! I wouldn't accept just anyone random after all!"
Seeing that she had been working alone all this while, I had a feeling she would say something like that. But somehow, I have a feeling that was not what she was referring to.
Anyway, the reason why I didn't want to just hire anyone was because of the current relationship I have with my crew mates.
One of them is currently my lover and the other is my slave who... Well... Literally watched me have sex with my lover last night while masturbating by herself...
I could have addressed it and asked her what she wanted but I just felt that I didn't want to deal with that while Bimic was still here.
Clearly, Lea has some interest in me, but I'm not sure if she was feeling that way just because I had shown her a new side of cooking which sparked her interest, or that she was actually interested in me as a person.
To be honest, it's hard for me to tell how she really feels especially when I have grown accustomed to Amber's way of showing affection.
Like right now, Amber was practically shoving her boobs in my face without feeling awkward, though I guess the fact that I now have a feminine body might be attributed to some of those actions.
But Lea always remained cool and sometimes even seemed aloof.
To put it simply... I don't really want to deal with it right now...
Hey, give me a break ok? I'm literally new to this universe and I don't even know a lot of what the common sense of this place is! What's more, I'm already in a relationship with a girl who by all rights should have been out of my league yet she's completely smitten with me! All of this is new to me!
Also, I've known all of these people for less than half a year, you know? Everything is just going so fast for me!
So you'll just have to forgive me if I decide to kick this proverbial can down the road for a future me to deal with instead.
Anyway, as I was saying...

I was brought out of my musings when warnings started sounding out from the console, right before another warning came about an interdiction blast.
Ah... Fuck...
