Chapter 27: ZURI'S PLAN

"You managed to get her onboard?" Caiden looked at the alpha, he was surprised to learn about it. "How did you charm her?"

"She wanted a way out of that union."

Khaos had just returned from the Blackthorne pack after escorting Zuri back. He took five of his warriors as an extra protection.

At first, he thought Zuri would reject his offer to escort her back to the Blackthorne pack, because it would cause a scandal. It wouldn't look favorable for her, but to his surprise, she agreed with him.

Khaos still remembered the look on Xaden's face when he saw his mate with him. Zuri caused trouble, but when he saw that woman, she looked nonchalant, defiant even.

And by the time Khaos returned to the Gray wolf pack, it was already dawn, but he had a great time last night. That woman... surprised him. He knew that she was the mastermind behind the River Creek pack's business deals while her father had been claiming credit for her ideas.

"Why? Is she not happy?" Caiden dug deeper. He walked beside Khaos in the hallway.

Khaos glanced at Caiden. "Who could stand waking up to that face every day?"

After saying that, Khaos went inside his bedroom and closed the door, while the gamma was laughing so hard, his face turned red.

Zuri didn't take her cub back. The white furball needed extra care, something that she didn't have any idea about. Instead, she would get him back in the party that the Gray wolf pack would hold in two weeks from now for their alpha's return.

It was still early in the morning and Khaos needed to catch up with his sleep, since he stayed up the whole night. But the same couldn't be said about Zuri. Because Xaden was mad beyond reason upon seeing his mate return with another man in the middle of the night.

She was locked up in her bedroom now.

"Leave now."

"But, Luna, you need to eat or drink something." She insisted.

They were good at their job as the personal maids if they wanted to. They were actually pretty loyal, given that they were also loyal to Faye to the point they were daring enough to go against their alpha and luna.

"Finish this job, and I will reward both of you for your good work." Zuri smirked. She was fine, at least for now. Skipping dinner and breakfast a few times wouldn't weaken her, but of course if this continued for days, she wouldn't be okay.

But, she wouldn't let that happen. She had a few plans that were already in motion now.

"Luna..." Esther wanted to say something, but she bit her lip and then took the letters along with the bread and water. She couldn't let other people know that they tried to feed the luna.

And now, Zuri could only wait for her plan to unfold.

She climbed into the bed and fell asleep.

It was a waiting game for her now. It would take two weeks to travel from the River Creek pack

to the Blackthorne pack; she hoped she could still make it by the time her father arrived.

Meanwhile, Sarah delivered the letter to the Graycwolf pack herself. She shifted into her light brown beast and rushed to that pack with the letter strapped around her wolf's ankle.

It took her six hours, because she wasn't used to a long journey like this and needed to rest a few times to catch her breath.

By the time she reached the pack, it was already late at night.

"I need to deliver a letter to Alpha Khaos."
