Chapter 26: I AGREE WITH YOUR OFFER

Zuri was amazed when she entered the main building. It felt so different. Even though this place was understandably smaller than the palace, the aura that surrounded this place was way so different.

It felt more regal and reverent, as if the family of old lycans was still living in this place.

She learned the history of this continent and what happened thirty years ago. Her father fought in that war too and loved to brag about his golden days.

"You can wait for a while here, Luna. Would you like a drink? Perhaps some wine?"

The warrior eyed the cub in Zuri's arm. He recognized that cub and felt the need to inform the gamma about it.

"Yes, please." Zuri caressed the little cub's head, as it curled on her lap. This room was sophisticated, with gray as the dominant color. It reminded her of Khaos' eyes.

A butler appeared to deliver her wine, he told her that the alpha needed a few more minutes, since he didn't expect this visit.

"No rush."

The cub had stopped shivering and Zuri thought she was a little bit panicked to see her cub earlier and probably because she wanted to get away from that sick pack house.@@@@

And the first thing that came to her mind was Khaos' pack.

"...She is so beautiful, you need to see her!"

There was a hushed voice from behind her and Zuri turned her body around to see two little boys around the age of eight, hiding behind a huge statue of a firebird. She noticed they had red hair.

"Who is she?" The other one asked.

"I don't know."

"Hello," Zuri greeted them, but the two of them rushed away from the living room, leaving her alone again.

She was not alone for long, because not long after, the gamma entered the room and he frowned at Zuri. His frown only deepened when he saw the little cub on her lap.

The warrior informed him and sure enough, Caiden immediately rushed to the living room to find Zuri and the little wolf cub.

She didn't care.

She got high on all the tension that she created herself, by putting herself in the crossfire and disregarding the norms.

Fuck Xaden.

Fuck her father.

Fuck them all.

Zuri was aware that once she got down from this high, she would bear the consequences. This was why her father paid close attention to her. She indeed had more talent among his children, but she was also... the craziest.

Her father had to put a leash on her, in case her strong impulse got the best of her, just like

right now.

The change of behavior didn't go unnoticed by Khaos. He could see how different Zuri was when he met with her in the palace.

Currently, she looked more at ease...

He opened the door and let her inside his study room.

"Lovely room," Zuri said, as she looked around her. "You haven't changed the decoration in

this place. I can see a lot of Lycan insignia here."

"I like it this way." Khaos poured two glasses of wine and handed one to Zuri. "This building

has character."

"The Lycan empire was long gone." Zuri swirled her wine. "I read in history that the lycans

were an old family of shifters. The first ruler in this continent. It's a pity that their own people betrayed them."

Khaos said nothing, he studied her instead. "What brought you here, Luna Zuri?"

"I accept your offer."
