Chapter 313 When The Original Owner Shows Up
Chapter 313 When The Original Owner Shows Up
Surprisingly, the seller got there faster than I did.
They even had a group of cargo drones carrying all the boxes prepped up for delivery floating behind him.
Despite the fact that he was wearing a cloak and mask that covered his face, I could tell from his body language that he was nervous.
I'm not sure if it was because this was his first time making a black market sale or, more likely, these human organs he's selling have some troubling history behind it.
I approached the guy and he visibly jumped a little when he saw me approach but relaxed when he saw me.
"Are you the buyer?" He asked.
I nodded before looking at the boxes behind him, "That's all the stuff?"
"What? Oh! Yes, yes! Umm... All of them are right there. Twenty crates for sixty million Credits. You have the Credits right?"
I pulled out a gold Credit Chip and slotted it into my Codex to transfer the money into it, "Got it right here."
He skipped forward excitedly to receive it but I pulled back and held up my palm to stop him.
"Hold on a moment."
He stopped and I saw his hand reaching behind him, probably so that he could grab his gun.
I wasn't too worried about it because I believe he's just worried that I was trying to rob his stuff or something and wanted to prepare for the worst.
Even if he did try to shoot me, my shield should be able to absorb his shots with enough time for me to blast him with my shotgun that I have on my back. At this distance, I doubt I would be at a disadvantage even if he shot first.
I nodded in the direction of the boxes, "Before we do this, I need to know where you get those from? Do I need to worry about some people coming after me for possessing this?"
He hesitated and that was pretty much all I needed to know.
"So you're going to pass off this problem to me? Who did you get this from? Depending on your answer, I might not even buy it anymore."@@@@
He grimaced, "I... May have taken this off some other doctor who may or may not try to get this back..."
"Is that why you want this to be taken off the station?"
"That's right... It's only by chance that I even managed to get this stock."
"Right... And how dangerous is that doctor?"
"Err... Don't worry about it..."
I plugged the Credit Chip back into my Codex, "Alright, since I'm obviously doing you a favour for this, I'm dropping the price to fifty million instead."
"Wait, wait... That's way too low! I took an insanely big risk to take all of this away! Fifty million Credits is way too low!"
"Uh-huh... And you need someone to take this off your hands right now if you don't want to be caught with it, right? Right now you can sell it to me for that price or wait for another person to pay you the price that you are looking for while risking the doctor finding you."
Hey, no reason to not try and get the best price for myself, right? Maximise profits and minimise losses, one of the key things you should look out for in sales.
Instead of firing at me, she suddenly pointed the gun at Mara instead and shot at her.
The gunshots echoed through the hallway and I was sure the guy running away could still hear it.
Obviously Mara's shield blocked all the shots from reaching her and I raised an eyebrow at why she would change targets like that.
Mara turned to her, "Really?"
Amber huffed, "What? You're telling me you would try to shoot her instead?"
"Oh no way, I would shoot at you as well."
"Exactly."
I coughed, "Ahem... So these belonged to you, Mara?"
The doctor turned back to me, "Well, yes and no. To explain, this was part of my plan to get the thugs to mess up my place. It's not actually mine."
I turned to look at the boxes, "So... Err... What do we do with this then? I originally wanted to buy this for fifty million Credits to sell at Denibi System."
Mara waved dismissively at the boxes, "You can just take it, Tera. I was already expecting this to disappear instead of getting it back. Anyway, it's not like I need any of this in the first place."

I turned back to the boxes behind me, "This is worth a lot of money though... I don't mind splitting with you though?"
"I didn't pay a single Credit for that. I just called in some favours."
I swivelled back to stare at her, "You... Called in a favour that's worth at least fifty to sixty million Credits?"
"I did say that I earned a lot more as an information broker, didn't I?"
Ah... I think I know now... She probably got this by agreeing to either give away information or promising not to sell specific information about them to get all of this...
She continued, "Anyway, since I'm part of your crew now, I would still benefit from the sale of this anyway right?"
"Well... I guess? But I thought you might need some capital to start up your new clinic on the ship or something?"
"I do have savings, Tera. And I didn't lose everything from this either. All of my things are already on your ship and the only thing I would be missing from this would be new clientele."
I guess that's true...
Amber grinned, "So our next destination is already decided then?"
I nodded, "We'll be selling this off at Denibi station since I already know the black market rates there. Assuming that the price is still the same."
My two lovers smiled at me.
"So when do we set off?"
Well, right now I guess?
